Children must take books home daily to read or share with parents.
Infants are expected to learn spellings when appropriate.
Juniors must read, learn spellings and multiplication tables, and complete other assigned tasks.
Parents should refer to the school’s Homework Policy for full details and ways to help.
If a child becomes ill at school, parents will be contacted; children are not allowed to go home alone.
Parents must inform the school office of illness-related absences by phone before 9 am or in writing.
For medical or dental appointments, parents must provide written notice and arrange for an adult to collect the child.
Children arriving late due to appointments should inform the school in advance.
Up to ten days per year may be requested for family holidays, at the Head’s discretion, though this is discouraged.
Odd days off for treats cannot be authorized.
Mutual respect, cooperation, and understanding between home and school are essential for pastoral care.
Good behaviour is encouraged through praise and rewards; sanctions are used if necessary.
Parents will be informed if a child’s behaviour is a concern and invited to discuss solutions.
Children must learn self-discipline, acceptable behaviour, consideration for others, and good manners.
Wearing jewellery to school is inappropriate; only plain small stud earrings are allowed and must be removed or covered for PE.
Jewellery for religious or cultural reasons may be worn with safety precautions.
Extra-curricular and after-school activities vary by term and include sports, smart class, art, computers, drama, and music.
A nominal charge applies for club attendance to cover costs.
